Christmas Gift

Christmas started early this year at Sanctus 1, as we've already done our Christmas day service.  We looked at the anticipation of opening a present and savouring it till the last moment, because once the contents have been revealed you can't put it back again, you can't unknow what you know.

The gift of Jesus is not just the gift of a baby boy to the world, but a whole way of being, a Kingdom come and still to come.  We pray that you will value all your gifts this Christmas time, just as the merchant valued the pearl of great value and sold everything he had.

Merry Christmas!

Anticipation

Anticipation candles

Anticipation by Yvonne M Carson

Anti-patience.

Ante-natal's hope:
A particular pleasure to be precipitated?

Ante-passion's apprehension:
A prospect to be prevented?

After that?
A waiting game but
A participation sport.

Once Upon A Time...

OnceUponATime

Once upon a time, in a cafe in Manchester... For the month of November, we are exploring the nature of short stories. The Bible is made up of many short stories, each with words of guidance and meaning, that span back thousands of years. We will be looking at some contemporary short stories from three different writers, seeing how they use brevity to convey a message, and what we can learn for their ideas. We will reveal the reading list at the November food service, where we will also be creating short stories of our own. We look forward to seeing you there ...and they all lived happily ever after.
